I loved it.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.A beautiful story...By PolkaDotWhat a beautiful story! The characters were so real and they had to wrestle with real problems. This story was both heartwarming and heart wrenching. I wasn't sure what either Hope or Charity would decide until their decisions were revealed. I came to like all of the characters and the way they handled the situations they were in and the decisions they had to make. I learned more about the Amish lifestyle and beliefs. I am quite happy with modern conveniences, but I have great respect for those who chose to live separately and plainly. I highly recommend this book. The story is excellent and you will find yourself drawn into the lives of the characters and you will find yourself interested in and caring about their hopes and dreams and the difficult decisions they need to make. I could see both sides of Hope's and Charity's dilemmas and really couldn't decide how I wanted things to work out. Both women knew that they would have to give up one thing if they chose the other. The author handled this beautifully and left me feeling satisfied. I am sorry for rambling, but I don't want to ignore Leanne and the decision she had to make. I was very happy with her decision. LovinI've read three of Susan's novels and loved each one but this one might be my favorite. The details about the Amish way of life were especially interesting and were presented in such a way to make the later action of the book understandable. The characters are real - at once conflicted and charming - and easy to root for. The story is fun but it's safe and appropriate for all ages. This book would make a wonderful gift for a young woman - or frankly, one of any age! I look forward to giving it to my 16 year-old niece for Christmas.See all 89 customer reviews...
